Landing Light & Gear Box Fairing for the Zenith 601HD / HDS.

Since we have a gear box protruding from each wing anyway, why not add a curved landing light of similar size in front of it?  The photos show the parts that need to be fabricated.  Everything is .016" 6061T6 material that I had left over, except the Landing Light doublers which is .025".  The parts were bent in an 18" economy brake.  The front fairing rivets to the Landing Light doublers & Bottom Wing "L" Extrusion 6V11-5.  It has a cross brace to add lateral support. The rear fairing rivets to a couple of "V" shaped "L"s and also has a cross brace for lateral support.
The lights were purchased from an automotive store for about $30.  The description on the box reads "Cyber White - Navigator NV-505W Driving Lamp.  They are 55w Halogen's with replaceable bulbs.  Should provide comparable if not better performance that a 100 watt Aircraft landing light as Halogen's are
supposed to be more efficient.  Can't wait to get my airplane finished to try them out!
The total project took less than 10 hours and provides improved aerodynamics as well as easily
serviceable, redundant landing lights.
