Zodiac Inside Step

With Chris Heintz approval here are the pictures of Jack Russell's inside step modification.

Installation Procedure:

1. drill hole in bottom skin to accommodate washer on end of step.
2. cut a disk of aluminum and split (like a split washer) to slip over step arm to cover hole.
3. weld wedge onto factory step bracket to ensure bracket rest on bottom longerons. (if building from scratch it would be easier just to make it fit from the start)
4. cut step tubing to fit across fuselage ,
5. Reinforce bottom skin with angle (I used 1/16"angle) riveted to bottom skin and bolted to cross tube. The front reinforce angle riveted to bottom skin will prevent twist of the cross tube.

I have tested it with my 180lbs and the step works fine and ,I think, looks better.
