Princess Aero (Auto) Tools
As we have all done, I ran to Princess Auto to get a tool
that could bend edges of aluminium. But all I could find was a pair of sheet
metal Vise Grips. These are almost useless due to the fact that they only grip
in the last 2 millimetres and mark the metal in the process. Determined not to
spend 30 or more dollars at Aircraft Spruce, I placed my new found pliers into
my vise and started whacking with the rubber mallet.
After
beating both plates to the shape needed I now
have a 5 dollar set of plyers that would bend with the best of them. All that was left to
do was file all the sharp edges. I have
used these pliers alot now and find them just as good as anything
else I have used , including the $30 dollar pair from
the aviation tool catalogues. ~Mark Townsend
